Sacramento – Harold Vernon Whitmer, 84, of Sacramento, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville. Mr. Whitmer was born June 30, 1929 in Millport, KY. He was a masonary at Dossett Masonry and a member of Towers Chapel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Whitmer; daughter, Sharon Bratcher; son, Wayne Whitmer; and a sister, Shirley Turley. Survivors include his daughters Kathy Miller and Judy Whitmer of Rumsey; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Roy Allen Whitmer and Jimmy Whitmer of Sacramento; sister Wanda Dossett of Sacramento. Funeral services will be Friday, October 4th, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento, with Rev. Tony Blake officiating and Rev. J.W. Haire assisting. Burial in West Union Cemetery.
