I have so many wonderful memories of my grandfather. He taught me how to ride a horse, cook an awesome meatloaf, and how to operate an "ancient" record player, lol. I wish I could be there right now to say goodbye in person, but thank God I did get the opportunity to talk to him on the phone. Your Bunny loves you and misses you dearly Papaw!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I'm leaving a cup of coffee as the 'image' for my dad because he like me & his dad before him, loved his coffee! Not just a single cup but whenever he could get one! My dad was a simple man that loved simple things. His coffee, his cigarettes, his horses, his camper, his alone time, his family & also his own personal relationship with Jesus. I thank God for our private talks about the Lord. I know dad was baptized & saved at a young age & while he backslid for a while, I know he got his heart right with God & is now 'home' in heaven. If there is a choice in heaven, dad would not want a 'mansion'. He would prefer a small log cabin, maybe even a one room cabin with a view of the woods & his horses at the ready outside the door. That would be heaven to him & I'm sure God would be happy to grant that request. A simple heaven for a simple man. One of natural beauty, peace & serenity. One where my dad would feel right at home with a cup of strong black coffee in his hand.

My dad was a 'cool' dad to me! I lived with my mom so when I got the chance to see my dad he spoiled me, not with money as he was a coal miner & what some would consider very poor BUT he spoiled me in other ways. For instance letting me drive his Firebird when I was 11 on the back country roads of Muhlenberg County & telling me it was 'my' car. Letting me get 'dirty', playing in the mud & dirt which my mom would never have allowed! It was our little secret! Letting me take a 'shower' in the rain! While I thought it was fun, it was actually out of necessity as he didn't have running water back then but I didn't mind as I got to play in the rain & get clean at the same time! I didn't get to spend nearly as much time as I would have liked with my dad, even some visits were years apart but those few times I did have with him are cherished memories to me which I will carry in my heart till I get to see him again & then we can catch up with no time restraints. I will know my dad before I even see him as I'm sure as I'm within his sight, he will call out 'Hey DOLL', as that is what he always called me even up till the week before he went home to be with his Lord & Saviour Jesus. I'm sure he is there now riding the most beautiful horse God had to give along side Jesus, his father & his dear brother. Dad is truly happy now & for that I will be eternally grateful to the Lord as He never left my dads side!
