OWENSBORO – Tom Ashby, 87, of Owensboro, died Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Signature Healthcare in Bowling Green. He was born February 27, 1937 in McLean County. He was a self-employed carpenter and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an active member in church and was always willing to help someone in need, demonstrating his lifelong devotion to Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ovie and Louise Ashby, wife Marlene Ashby, brothers Clay and Floyd Ashby, sisters Margie Mae Ashby and Betty Williams, and great grandson Bryson Daugherty.
He was survived by his daughters Ruth Scanlan of Owensboro and Jann (Chad) Daugherty of Scottsville, grandchildren Megan (Will) Henness of Bowling Green and Bradley (Sarah) Daugherty of Scottsville, great grandchildren Carter and Tyler Henness, and sister Helen (Billy) Rickard of Sacramento, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 10AM at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Bro. Tim Hall officiating. Burial in West School House Cemetery.
