CENTRAL CITY – Dorothy Reno Givens Paxton, 93, of Central City, died Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 7:23AM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mrs. Paxton was born May 27, 1925, in Muhlenberg County. She was owner and operator of Givens Grocery Store, and a member of First Baptist Church in Central City. She was a member of the Loflan Mission Group, Ladies Adult Sunday School, Red Hat Ladies, and was a Kentucky Colonel. She participated in local fairs, winning championships in flower arrangements. She also served out her late husband’s, Hildred’s, term on city council. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Givens; second husband, Hildred Paxton; parents Charlie and Maude Reno; sisters Beulah Mooningham and Pauline Craig; and brothers William, Edward, and James Reno. She is survived by her son, Rickey (Lanne) Givens of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandson Dustin (Jennifer) Givens of Greensboro, NC; step-sons Eddie Paxton and Steve Paxton; brother Carl Reno; three nieces; and seven nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 10:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Chase Thompson officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
