CENTRAL CITY – Dewey Denzil Griffin, age 73, of Central City died, Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital.  Dewey was born July 28, 1949 in Browning, KY and was a Professional Gambler and Pool Player.  He was of the Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Elaine Griffin and his parents, Dewey Griffin and Alva Alverson.

His survivors include his children, Dale (Phyllis) Griffin, Nicole Coopwood, Brittany Daniel; companion Denise Belt; grandchildren, Jonas Schweikhard, Dale Griffin, Dallas Butterworth, Dylan Butterworth, Dallan Griffin, Brilee Daniel, McKinlee Daniel, Jaylee Daniel; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna McGehee, Mary Smith; brothers, William Miller, Doug Miller; several nieces and nephews and special pool  playing friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 3, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.  with Bro. Curtis McGhee officiating at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City.  Visitation will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Online condolences can be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com

If this is the person that I knew as Denny, he really had a heart of gold. I haven’t seen him for 45 years. My ex and he were friends. When my ex would leave with the tractor and trailer he drove and would leave no money for our two babies,he had bought formula for them.
