My deepest condolences to the family, and though I met Dennis but for a brief time at Deloitte, he had already left me with lasting impressions. I’m reminded in these difficult times of a quote from author Helen Keller, “What we have once enjoyed we can never lose.” May he rest in peace and his memory live on in the lives he has touched.
A friend from Central City made me aware of Dennis' passing yesterday.(4/24 p.m.) I am sorry for the family's loss. I have not seen Dennis since high school and I once shared a college class with Margaret in the 1980's in Madisonville. My wish is that the family receives comfort from Our Lord and Saviour in this time of sorrow.
When I joined Deloitte, the Hermitage office had just been opened, and since most of us were new to the firm, we leaned heavily on anyone who had already spent any time in Deloitte. Dennis was that person for me, since he sat right on the other side of my cubicle wall. I think he answered more questions from me that first year than all the questions he had from his customers and employees. But that was Dennis, always open to help, and always free in sharing the stories he had collected of the workplace, Kentucky, and family. Dennis was a natural storyteller. And a generous friend. It has been a great privilege to have known him.
Margaret, We are lifting you and your family in our prayers. Our lives are blessed because we knew Dennis. I have lots of fond memories of working with Dennis at the old DH&S practice office in Nashville. He was a man of great integrity and had such a kind and gentle spirit.
Margaret, Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you, your family and numerous friends. Dennis had such a positive impact on everyone he met, he was funny, always pleasant, easy to talk to, insightful and courageous. He always had time for people. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts, and that Dennis had such a huge positive impact on so many lives.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
My condolences to his family. Dennis was a good man who was always reassuring and treated me kindly. His encouragement has always stuck with me. I have nothing but fond memories of him and I know he is smiling down on us. He will truly be missed!
Margaret, you and Dennis are two of my favorite people that I got to know through our Deloitte journey. I am so sorry for your loss and thinking of you during this difficult time. I saw Dennis last year at Longhorn and his smile was as beautiful as ever. We will miss him.
Margaret, Dennis is having a wonderful time in heaven. He is running, and jumping and his body has no limitations. There is no more suffering only joy, peace and happiness. He is looking down saying don't worry Margaret, I am in a wonderful place. In fact, I am helping Saint Peter with his books. Our prayers are with the entire Staples family. Much love, Dannie and Claudette.
Margaret, I am so sorry to hear that Dennis has passed but happy he is with the Lord and no longer suffering. He always had such a positive attitude even the past few years he demonstrated such faith and strength. I will always remember him for his kindness. May God bless you and the Staples family.
My condolences to Margaret, the rest of the family, and numerous friends. I echo the sentiment many feel: I am a better person for having known Dennis. Even in the most stressful situations and darkest times, he exhibited the attributes we're called to: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. During my visits with him, he always asked about my work, family, challenges and successes. That was typical of him: He cared. I'll miss him. I look forward to seeing him again: whole, without pain, and smiling.
Thanks to Dennis and Margaret for sharing their journey of hope and faith. We learned so much from their travels on this difficule road of life. May the memories of their life together comfort Margaret, Beth and Braxton--I know I will cherish the lessons from Dennis and the fellowship shared over the simple task of getting our morning coffee together. Rest in peace, Dennis, and please know that many people will be watching over Margaret and Beth in the coming days, weeks, and years.
Rest in Peace Dennis. Fond memories of you I will carry with me forever. Blessings to Margaret and family.
As we travel our journey through life, there are just some people that you meet that will always have a significant impact on everyone! Dennis leaves a big hiole for all of us on earth. His grace, endurance and joy just exhibit how tall he stood among men! We met in 1989 at Deloitte and he truly epitomized what all of us strive to be - a great friend, encourager and most importantly, a great Christian! Wow - what a life he led! Margaret - you are the supreme example of a wonderful wife! I love you and send many prayers to both you and Beth. My very deepest sympathy! Angie Berry
Marion, was my beloved mother. She mention you and Dennis often you were always in our thoughts and prayers. Margaret, Marion was so very proud of both of you. Know that my prayers are with you at this great time of loss. Love Debora Spicer (cousin)
Margaret, My deepest condolences for your loss. Dennis was one of the first people to help me when I moved down here to TN. His SAP knowledge was treasured in our firm and he was always available when you needed him. I will miss him as I do his good friend Jaime spears who also so tragically died to young! God Bless you! Len Tropea

Thoughts and prayers go out the Family.
The picture on this page makes me feel Dennis is about to say something insightful or mischievous. I’m not sure which. There was a light in his eyes that grabbed your attention. Dennis was a wonderful man and role model, both professionally and personally. We will miss him and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues.
I truly feel blessed to have had the honor of working with Dennis and Margaret. They were cheerful and helped to make work life enjoyable and meaningful. I will truly miss his presence but know that we will see him again. The Hart family would like to extend our heart felt condolences to Margaret and family.
Dennis was one of the kindest persons I've ever met and he was always kind and helpful to me when I had a question. My sympathies to his family in their grief. Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding: Deal graciously with this family in their grief. Surround them with your love, that they may not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
I was very sad to hear of Dennis passing. I met him 1993 when I started at Deloitte and he was nothing but friendly to me. In fact I don't have a memory of Dennis when he was not smiling. I hope Margaret and family can find comfort in their great memories of such a good man and find pride that this man was so admired by his friends and colleagues. - Joel
Our sincerest condolences to the Staples family and their many friends. Dennis was a neighbor and we always knew him to be a person of integrity and honor. We met Dennis and Margaret when we moved to Tennessee 14 years ago and their kindness and thoughtfulness will always be remembered. May Dennis rest in peace and Margaret find comfort in the many special memories they shared.
Margaret, I am truly sorry for your loss. Both you and Dennis gave it your all in a long and courageous battle. Your love and strength kept him going. Each day that you shared together was a blessing, and a true testament to your love for each other. Dennis is greatly missed, but we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. All my love and prayers to you, his family, and yours. We are all here for you.
Margaret, My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family. Dennis was a wonderful man, always pleasant, insightful, hopeful, and courageous. Dennis was one of my interviewers when I came to Deloitte in 1997. He was always willing to answer any question that I may have had and sharing his knowledge. I am blessed to have known Dennis and shared conversations with him as one of my colleagues. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Grateful for the impact Dennis had on our lives. Remembering his courage and kindness. Continuing our deeply heartfelt sentiments for Margaret's, Beth's & Braxton's well being. Love, Glenna & Brad...
I am so sorry for you all. Mom and Dad have kept me informed over time so I know it has been a long battle for Dennis and the family. I know you will grieve, yet I am glad that your grief will not be as those who have no hope because Dennis' faith has become sight. You will be in my prayers.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
