BOWLING GREEN – Delta Faye Settle Felts, 80, of Bowling Green, KY, died peacefully in the Bowling Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after complications from pancreatic and colon cancer, on Monday, November 13, 2023. Special thanks to those caregivers at that facility who treated her with respect, dignity and like family over the last 5 years.
Delta was born September 23, 1943, in Greenville, Ky., to the late Willie and Halliane Settle. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1961 and later attended the University of Louisville.
During the early 1970s, Delta was a homemaker, dedicated to raising three children with her former husband James Browning Felts. In the early 1980s, Delta went back to college at the University of Louisville, with an intense passion for Political Science. In 1985, Delta moved to the Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area where she lived and worked as a paralegal for 10 years. In 1995, Delta relocated back to Bowling Green, KY, where she worked in the Administrative Office of the Courts in the Warren County Circuit Clerk’s office for 17 years, before her retirement.
In addition to her parents, Delta was predeceased by her sister, Joyce McDonald; her former husband, James Browning Felts; and two infant children, Tracy Settle and Jimmy Felts. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Todd (Donovan), Kaiden, Karissa Rogers and Aubrey Rogers; and son, Rob Felts (Paulla), Jackson and Aaron; and son, Drue Felts (Linda), Devan and Taylor; and brothers, Roger, and Eddy Settle; and cousin, Peggy Wayne.
A memorial service celebrating Delta Felts’ life will be held at Tucker Funeral Home, 113 N. 3rd Street, Central City, Ky 42330, on Saturday, November 18, 2023 starting with visitation at 9:30am, and the funeral at 11am with David Anderson officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Woodland Missionary Baptist Church cemetery, 201 Woodland Road, Greenville, Ky. 42345.
