OWENSBORO – Deborah Crick Hendrix, 75, of Owensboro, KY went to be with Jesus on Monday, January 19th, 2026, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia. Debbie was born on October 4th, 1950, to David and Wanda Crick in Greenville, KY. She accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. Debbie was best known for her beautiful blue eyes, decorating talents, love of babies and animals, and for the love she gave her family.
Debbie was a Summa Cum Laude Graduate of Brescia and WKU, where she earned both a Master’s and Rank 1 degree in education. She began her teaching career at Beaver Dam Elementary and retired from College View Middle School. Although Debbie loved being a wife, mother, and educator, her most cherished title was that of “Gan.” Her love for her three grandsons was endless. Gan never missed an opportunity to create memories with “the boys” and faithfully attended their sporting and school events.
Debbie married the love of her life, David, on August 8th, 1970. They shared 55 years making wonderful memories, and spent their last day together gently swaying to the music of The Righteous Brothers. David faithfully cared for his “sweet lips” until his own health battles prevented him from doing so.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, brother David (Brenda) Crick, and in-laws Marvin and Thelma Hendrix. She is survived by her soulmate of 55 years, David Hendrix. Daughter Tamara and her husband Ryan Williams – whom Debbie loved like a son. Her three cherished grandsons, David Baron Williams, Ryan Easton Williams and Thadeus Linkon Williams. Sister Melissa Street. In-laws Michael and Ruth Hendrix, Sherry Brown, Theresa Martin, Tim and Kathy Hendrix, and Cynthia and John Kaszkur. Special Best Friends Wayne and Lynn Milligan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Family would like to thank Connie Williams and the staff of Chautauqua, especially Amy, Bailey, Chastity, Heather, Karoline, and Tara, for the love and care they gave Debbie the last 6 months.
How lucky we are to have someone so wonderful that makes saying goodbye so hard.
