BREMEN – Dallas “Buck” Gilbert, 90, of Bremen, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 5:42AM under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Mr. Gilbert was born April 3, 1930, in LeJunior, KY. He was a heavy equipment operator for Peabody Star Coal Mines. He loved to work in his garden. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed his job and working with his hands. He served in the U.S. Army, and was very proud of his grandson, Wesley, who has a career in the military. He was also very supportive of Cody with his drag racing hobby. He especially loved his wife of 67 years, Norma, and was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Nellie Gilbert. He is survived by his wife, Norma Wilson Gilbert; daughter Vicky (Randy) Whittinghill of Anna, IL; grandchildren Wesley (Ashley) Mohon and Cody (Ayla) Whittinghill; and great-grandchildren Laken Mohon, Breck Mohon, Madelyn Whittinghill, and Addison Whittinghill. Funeral services will be Friday, February 12, 2021, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to wear a face covering, in accordance with the governor’s mandate.
