So sorry to hear about your loss, Shack was truly a good man, I have lots of fond memories of him and of his family because I grew up across the street from them on Stringtown Road, it was very evident he loved his family and they loved and respected him, although he will be greatly missed , I pray his family can find comfort in the countless good memories they have of him and knowing him and Jonathan have been reunited.

So sorry for your loss. I remember Charlie and daddy ( Duke Shanks ) picking guitars and working in the mines together.

I don't have words... I have known this dear man most of my life. Years ago, I found out he, my uncle and my grandfather were great friends. Charlie and I used to take a day trip with my grandfather about twice a year. I loved hearing their stories and learning about the lifelong connection they had. It was a display of true and pure friendship. My uncle Denny once took me to Charlie's to hear him play and sing. Many people didn't know how talented he was. He had a beautiful country music style voice; more importantly he was a beautiful person! I can imagine the good time they must be having today! My uncle Denny and Papaw Dewey loved him like he was their own (of course everyone loved Charlie)!!!! My most sincere condolences and prayers go out to the family. He will never be forgotten! Oh this hurts my heart! Shack was the BEST bus driver. We all got excited when we would see his smiling face behind the wheel! He was one of the sweetest men I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He always had a kind word, unbelievable stories and funny jokes! I had no idea this was your dad Dawn! He will be missed by many I'm sure. My prayers are with the whole family!

As a kid, I had the pleasure of knowing Charlie as one of the Stringtown Road neighborhood fathers that helped raise us, encourage us, and keep us out of trouble. Later in life, I saw his impact continue on young people as their bus driver - particularly in those years he drove the Muhlenberg North Lady Stars basketball team. He was a good man and a positive influence on many, many lives - including this one. Rest in peace, Shack. We pray for comfort for your wonderful family in these days ahead.
