CENTRAL CITY – Billy Vines Morris, Sr., 75, of Central City, after a lengthy illness, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 2:12PM at his home, in the company of his family. Mr. Morris was born February 9, 1942, in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner, U.S. Army veteran, and attended Powderly Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Merle Morris; sister Betty (Harold) Pointer; grandsons Caylin Morris, Steven Morris, Preston Morris, and Paxton Morris; and granddaughters Julie Morris, Andria Morris, and Hailie and Layla Whitaker. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deborah Shemwell Morris; children Steve (Gina) Morris, Terry (Heather) Nunley, Billy Morris, Michael (Misty) Morris, Aaron (Cyndi) Morris, Ryan (Tanya) Morris, Joey (Jackie) Morris, Missy (Tomas) Niave, Alicia Morris, Beth (Kevin) Whitaker, April (Josh) Hardin, and Kenyen Watkins Morris; 39 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister Mildred Basham; brothers Jim (Shirley) Morris and Donnie (Charlotte) Morris; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 30, 2017, at 2:00PM at Powderly Holiness Church, with Bro. Ryan Morris officiating, assisted by Bro. Larry Shemwell. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
