POWDERLY – Barbara Marie Majors, 91, of Powderly, died Monday, March 22, 2021, at 10:10AM at her daughter’s residence in Dawson Springs. Barbara was born February 23, 1930, in Hammond, Indiana, to Lyle Francis Hartlerode and Mary Dorothy Peternac Hartlerode. She was a fitting room clerk at WalMart, and of the Christian faith. Barbara was part of a large family and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was so proud of her eight children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and cherished the time she spent with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Earl Majors; son Richard Ignas; and sister Janice Bleckiner.

She is survived by her children, Walter Ignas, Larry (Altie) Majors, Ann Ignas, Kathy Roe, Janet Barnes, Timothy Ignas, and Joan Crick; grandchildren Rachel, Valerie, Steffany, Brandon, Brian, Billy, Vanessa, Brian, Kristen, Joshua, and Samantha; several great-grandchildren; and several nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 12:00 noon at Memorial Gardens, with Mr. Paul Moore officiating. Burial to follow. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 – 11:30AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Family and friends are asked to wear a face covering, in accordance with the governor’s mandate.
