2020 Annual Candlelight Ceremony
24th Annual Holiday Memorial Service
For the last 23 years, Tucker Funeral Home’s annual Holiday Memorial Service has been a source of healing and support for grieving families in Central City and beyond. Though this year’s service will look different due to current circumstances, it is our hope that those who have lost a loved one will be blessed in a special way.
We began the candlelight service in 1997 as a way to honor the lives lost in the previous year. Families found the time together so encouraging that we continued year after year, building a tradition of caring for our neighbors and friends.
Though much has changed for our community and world over the last eight months, the importance of holding this cherished event remains the same. In order that all families can safely participate, the 24th Annual Holiday Memorial Service will be moved online, available on our website starting December 6, 2020.
The event will feature a brief message and prayer delivered by Rev. Curtis McGehee, along with comments from Tim Tucker and Colby Joe Carver. The memorial service will also include a vocal performance and the ceremonial lighting of candles.
Families are encouraged to gather in small groups in person or online to hold individual candlelight services. We encourage families to share memories, to laugh, to cry, to celebrate the life of your loved one. Lean on your friends, family and especially your faith during this difficult time.
We will continue our tradition of sending special ornaments to all families we have served in the past year, along with details on how to order additional ornaments.
It is our prayer that the warmth of the season and God’s blessings will comfort you and your family this holiday season.
Join us here on our website December 6-31 to participate in our 24th Annual Holiday Memorial Service and please contact us at (270) 754-1551 with any questions.
