DRAKESBORO – Wilbur Gene Carver, 82, of Drakesboro, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 6:05AM at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr. Carver was born April 2, 1931 in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired maintenance supervisor at Kentucky Utilities, and was a member of Beechmont Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving during the Korean War. Wilbur was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He and his wife, Alma, were married 56 years and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. His sons and grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Freddie Carver; and parents Dayton and Lottie Carver. Survivors include his wife, Alma Littlefield Carver; sons Rick (Beverly) Carver of Greenville, Mark (Gwen) Carver of Drakesboro, and Brian (Melissa) Carver of Drakesboro; grandchildren Nicholas Carver, Mikaela Carver, Abigail Carver, Mackenzie Carver, and Allie Carver; brother James (Brenda) Carver of Greenville; and sister-in-law Carol Carver Groves. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 11:00AM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Darrell Puryear officiating. Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Drakesboro.
