GREENVILLE – Washington Thomas “W.T.” Bivins, 85, of Greenville, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 8:21AM at his residence.  Mr. Bivins was born August 28, 1938, in Muhlenberg County.  He was a welder for Cimarron Coal Co., and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.  He was also a successful entrepreneur, and an avid trap shooter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernie and Louise Bivins; wife, Sylvia Bivins; sister, Wilma Epley; brother, Albert Bivins; and son, Richard Bivins.

He is survived by his sons, John (Kathy) Bivins of Central City and Michael (Lisa) Bivins of Georgia; companion and friend, Patsy Patton; beloved niece and caregiver, Faith (Tony) Cary of Alvaton; sister, Brenda Bush of Greenville; brother, Michael (Helen) Bivins of Greenville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:00AM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Rev. E.W. Greenwalt officiating, assisted by Rev. Jerry Eades.  Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 5-8PM at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gideons International or New Prospect Baptist Church.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
