CENTRAL CITY – Walter E. “Eddie” Paxton, 71, of Central City, passed away after a difficult battle with Amyloidosis on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at his home surrounded by his wife and children. He was born May 3, 1948, to the late Pete Paxton and Elizabeth “Meck” Durall Paxton. He graduated from Central City High School in 1966. Eddie was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving two years in the U.S. Army. He was of the Baptist faith. Eddie worked as an Electrical Engineer at G. E. in Owensboro, Reed Minerals, and was currently working part-time at Brewco. He enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship that work provided. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his cat Bear, gardening, and road trips with friends. He loved to visit the Gulf of Mexico and watch the ocean. He was preceded in death by his parents; and step-father Murphy Comeaux. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Walker Paxton; daughter Rebecca (Shannon) Coombs of Central City; son Jamie (Hailee) Paxton of Hanson; grandchildren Connor Coombs, Emma Coombs, Tinley Paxton, Dayton Jones, Addison Hayes, and Tanner Hayes; sister Jimmie Lou Allen; step-sisters Laura Mothersbaugh and Suzanne Fulkerson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 6, 2019, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Shane Garrett officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
