GREENVILLE – Verna Jean Miller Majors, 89, of Greenville, died Friday, November 23, 2018, at 2:08AM at Diversicare of Greenville. Mrs. Majors was born March 2, 1929 in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. She loved working in the yard with her flowers and taking care of her dogs, cats, and birds. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Pearlie Gossett; first husband Earnest Miller; second husband Dale Majors Jr.; daughter Carolyn Fairchild; son-in-law Orvil Fairchild; sisters Lois Young and Lillian Slaughter; and brothers James Gossett and Frank Gossett. She is survived by her daughters, Patsy (Jackie) Nelson, Shirley (Doug) Mayhugh, and Becky (Duke) Shanks; son Steven (Cindy) Miller; sister Barbara (Bill) Miller; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
