WHITE PLAINS – Velva “Mojo” Marjorie Walker Simms, 40, of White Plains, died Monday, November 18, 2019, at 1:15PM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mrs. Simms was born August 1, 1979, in Hopkins County. She was an industrial cleaner for Dolphin Cleaning, and was a member of New Paradise Baptist Church. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was an animal lover and she loved her cats. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marjorie Walker, Alice Sallee, and Godfrey Fulkerson; and aunt Sherrie Lee Buchanan. She is survived by fiance’ Tim Maxfield; children Steven Simms of White Plains, Donavon Michael (Jazmin Lowery) Simms of Greenville, and Tyler Wayne Maxfield of Russellville; grandchildren Hunter Wayne Maxfield and a grandchild expected on June 3, 2020; mother Patricia “Patty” Rose Fulkerson Walker; father Carnelius “Needy” Walker; sisters Teressa Lyn Romans and Wilma Alice (Joseph) Chesnel; brother Cornelius “Corkey” Rose; grandfather Franklin Sallee; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Funeral services will be Friday, November 22, 2019, at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Christopher Caskey officiating, assisted by Dean Romans. Burial in Rochester Cemetery.
