Stellian Virgil ‘Andy’ Anderson CENTRAL CITY — Stellian Virgil Andy Anderson, 84, of Central City died at 11:55 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born Sept. 24, 1924, in Combs to Alex H. Anderson Sr. and Mary Stamper Anderson. He was a World War II veteran. Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Combs High School, Cumberland College and the Universty of Kentucky. He worked for Kentucky Utilities Co. as chief chemist, operations supervisor and assistant plant superintendent at the Green River Power Station. He retired from Kentucky Utilities on May 1, 1991. He was a former Central City City Council member and a member of First United Methodist Church in Central City, where he held multiple leadership positions over the years. He married Anita Baxter Oct. 20, 1951. Summing up his life, he believed in and lived by honesty, integrity and respect of others. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Anderson and Ernest Anderson; and a sister, Emma Anderson Nolan. Survivors include his wife, Anita Baxter Anderson of Central City; three sons, Dr. Mickey (Betty Lew) Anderson of Bardstown, Bart (Marilyn) Anderson of Bowling Green and Scott (Belinda) Anderson of Central City; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Alex H. Anderson Jr. of Oak Ridge, Tenn. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Kevin Brown officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City.
