GREENVILLE – Roy “Gene” Jones, 91, of Greenville, died Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 9:18AM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Mr. Jones was born July 14, 1933 in Muhlenberg County. He was a faithful member of Lone Star General Baptist Church. He worked as a farmer and carpenter and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, riding his four-wheeler, trading at our local flea market, reading his Bible, and spending time with his beautiful family whom he loved dearly and was so proud. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Tammy Jones and Anna Amos; and parents, Arthur “Guy” and Flossie Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dean Jones; had 8 children, Doris (Eddie) Tooley, Patricia (Ricky) Cary, Edna (Ricky) Boggess, Barbara (Paul) Grace, Anna (Mike) Amos, Tammy Jones, Chris (Brandi) Jones, and Jennifer (Chad) Dorris; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 1PM at Lone Star General Baptist Church in Greenville with Bro. Ruby Rickard officiating, assisted by Bro. Chad Dorris and Bro. Tony Shanks. Burial in Lone Star Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City and on Thursday from 9AM -1PM at the church.
