CENTRAL CITY – Phillip “Red” Rickard, 75, of Central City, died Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 12:55AM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr. Rickard was born May 6, 1943, in Muhlenberg County. He was a graduate of Bremen Consolidated School Class of 1961. He worked for Tri-City Auto Parts, Peabody Coal Company, and Sinclair Surface Mines. He was a Kentucky Colonel, and former President of Muhlenberg County Antique and Classic Car Club. He was also a member of the Army Reserves and Muhlenberg County Topless Cruisers. He loved NASCAR racing and basketball. He also loved his grandkids and family beach vacations. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Rickard. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Louise Ward Rickard; son Myron Thomas (Crystal) Rickard of Seymour, IN; daughter Stefanie Leigh (Greg) Rager of Central City; and grandchildren Clay Rager, Brent Rager, Addison Rickard, Grant Rickard, and Wesley Gordon. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Central City, with Father Josh McCarty officiating and Rev. Leroy Rearden assisting. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday after 5:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
