CENTRAL CITY- Nancy Carol Whitmer (Cookie), 81, of Central City, Kentucky, died December 8, 2023 at 4:23 PM at the West River Health Campus in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by family and loved ones.  She was an active member at New Testament Christian Church. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved family, and she was an avid swimmer. Cookie worked as a beautician for over 40 years and owned and operated her own salon.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Chaney, mother, Lorene Walker Chaney, four siblings Lewis Chaney, Sr., Jerry Dossett, Wanda Doss, and Anna Merle Chaney (infant), all from Central City.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Carroll Whitmer of Central City, daughter, Lori (Rick) Turley, grandson Dr. Grant (Ashley) Turley, and great granddaughters Audrey and Eleanor Turley, all of Evansville, Indiana, one sister-in-law, Sue, (Eddie) Hobgood of Little River, South Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City from 11:00AM-2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Tucker Funeral Home with Bro. Matt Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Many heartfelt thanks go out to Cookie’s caregivers at West River Health Campus (Trilogy Senior Living Community) as well as St. Croix Hospice for their professionalism and loving care.
