Joe Meister left a message on March 9, 2017:
Grandmother deeply loved her family, and made family gatherings special times.
She was generous and kind to everyone, and took delight in her role as hostess and homemaker.

She made a number of small and beautiful paintings for her family members in the months before her passing, many of which featured pastoral impressions of the farm where she had grown up as a child.

The care and attention she gave to each work of art despite her failing health speaks to the love she had for us, and also gives us a sense of what she was dreaming and thinking about. The paintings are little windows into her own beatific vision. She is home.
