Margaret “June” Syers Humphrey

SACRAMENTO – Margaret “June” Syers Humphrey, age 86, of Sacramento, went home to be with her Lord and Savior suddenly at home on Saturday, September 2, 2017. She was born on September 28, 1930 in Mayfield, KY. She was the second child of Russell and Nadine Syers of Sacramento. She was a lifelong member of the Sacramento Baptist Church, and loved her church family very much. She retired in 1987 after 37 years with General Electric in Owensboro, Kentucky. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and UK basketball. Mrs. Humphrey was preceded in death by her parents, and her eldest sister, Joyce Woodburn, of Sacramento. Mrs. Humphrey is survived by her husband of 66 years, Clayton, her son, Steve (Beth) Humphrey of Bremen, and her daughter, Kathy (Ricky) Payton of Bremen; grandsons Kyle (Hollie) Payton and Kaleb (Jenna) Payton of Central City, and Taylor Humphrey of Bremen; two precious great grandsons Kyler Payton and Jay Payton; her sister, Jane Fredrick of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento, KY with Rev. Wendell Wood officiating.
