The world lost the most beautiful, sweetest, gentlest soul on December 3, 2019. Mae Johnson McElvain was born on June 11, 1941, and was a great mom, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and devout Christian. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She truly epitomized what it means to be a servant of our Lord. She was a fierce musician and could rock the church’s piano like no other! Even though she hasn’t sang for awhile, We can still hear her singing “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace” and singing along to golden oldies with my dad on long or short car trips. She was a member of the accounting department of Greenville Hospital where she retired in 2000, and was a member of Beech Creek Pentecostal Church. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Dana Smith; parents, Clarence and Jessie Johnson. Survivors include her husband, Thomas McElvain of Murfreesboro; daughters, Donna (Tony) Bennett of Murfreesboro, Dr. Pamela (Jim) Dwyer of Hanover Township, PA; grandchildren, DeAnna Beth (Thomas) Herbert, Josh (Carrie) Smith, Keith (Katlynn) Smith, Jenna Smith; great-grandchildren, Alex Herbert, Keegan Herbert, Kaylee Grace Smith, Kieran Rose Herbert. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1:00PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Graber officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 9:00-1:00 at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
