Lou Whitaker

April 19, 1947 - August 13, 2016

GREENVILLE – Lou Whitaker, went home to be with Jesus Aug 13, 2016. She was of the Baptist Faith and always considered Mt Olivet Church of Cornettsville, KY her home church. She attended Luzerne Baptist church Luzerne, KY at the time of her death. She was born April 19, 1947 at Kings Creek, KY to Altie and Arthur Stidham. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ira Whitaker, two brothers Hubert and Alvin Stidham; four sisters Eula Stidham, Lula Boggs Fields, Evelyn Banks and Pearl Banks. Her survivors include her daughter Vicki and Arthur Taylor; three sons Scott and Dianna Whitaker, Donovan Whitaker and Derrick Whitaker. Grandchildren Clay Whitaker, Carter Taylor, Kelsey and Kendall Whitaker, Isaiah and Sophia Whitaker and their mother Kim Piper. Elijah Whitaker and his mother Amanda Davis, Phoenix Whitaker and her mother Felicia Smith. Three brothers Bob and Vena Stidham, Darrell and Barbara Stidham both of Charlestown, IN. Dorris and Phyllis Stidham of Brandenburg, KY; two sisters Sue Thomas Whitesburg, KY and Shirley and Joe Kelly of Louisville, KY; many special nieces and nephews. Beloved friends at Belle Meade Home, PAC senior citizens and a host of others. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11 AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro Steve McElvain and Minister Janet Cunningham officiating. Burial will be Cherry Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made www.tuckerfuneralhome.

she was a special person friend and classmate all threw my life it was so sad for me to here about her.

My mother (Juanita Oldham) and I had the pleasure of not only working with this fine lady, but she was a special friend as well. She always had a smile on her face and was full of love. Today, my mother and Lou are being reunited in heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you today and always. I will cherish the memories of this wonderful, sweet lady.

Knew Lou for such a brief moment, but has my respect and love for eternity, made me feel so welcomed.

So many memories that I have of Lou (mom). When I was teenager and lost my mom she was there with a ear to listen, words of encouragement. She told me like it was and how she thought it should be. Though I will miss her smile, her hugs will always be Cherished. Rest in my peace and may God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit give you Rest that you deserved, Peace of mind to soothe your soul and great Joy of Happiness in knowing that you are now with Him. Love you Mom!!!!!

Donavan and Derrick so sorry for your loss your mom was one of the sweetest women I ever known I lost my mom in February 2016 so I know the pain you are feeling she in better place now with no more pain my prayers are with u and your family we always been like brothers brothers always need anything brother you no I'm here for you guys
