BREMEN – Lenia Cortina, 71, of Miami, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024, in Bremen, Kentucky. Born August 14, 1953, in Havana, Cuba. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Pedro M. Garcia; mother, Irene I. Garcia; husband, Enrique F. Cortina; sister, Ester Garcia Pantoja; nephews, Carlos Garcia Pantoja and Pedro J. Garcia.
She is survived by her brothers: Pedro B. Garcia and Raul J. Garcia, her three children: Enrique Cortina (Deisy), Ainel Zoellick (Brian) and Ivan Cortina (Jennifer); as well as her nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter: Brianna J. Cortina, Adrianna A. Cortina, Vanessa Cortina, Ivan Cortina Jr., Ryan Cortina, Zachary M. Zoellick, Zoe J. Zoellick, Zaylee L. Zoellick, Maximus M. Cortina, and Darianna J. Juarez; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lenia Cortina was known for her unwavering love and dedication to her family including her pets. As a mother and grandmother, she took immense pride in raising and nurturing her children and grandchildren. She was always there to offer support, wisdom, and a warm embrace. She created lasting memories with her family and was a constant source of strength, inspiration and guaranteed great laughs.
In addition to her family, Lenia had a passion for her pet babies and making sure they were happy and healthy. Lenia also had a passion for shopping online, exploring new products, great deals, and beautiful creations especially if they were featured on QVC! It was her best way to unwind. She touched the lives of many people with her kindness, generosity, love, and infectious smile. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at Caballero Rivero Southern Funeral home on December 4, 2024, at 5:00 pm – 10 am (next day). A celebration of life service will be from 10 am to 11 am on December 5, 2024. The graveside service will follow on December 5, 2024, at Caballero Rivero Dade North from 11 am to 12 pm.
