GREENVILLE – Joseph Wayne Yonts, 81, of Greenville, died Monday, May 8, 2023, at 12:34PM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital.  Mr. Yonts was born February 22, 1942, in Greenville.  He was owner of Evergreen Florist, and was of the General Baptist faith.  He was veteran of the Army National Guard.  He enjoyed watching and playing sports, bike riding, and tennis.  He was a member of the 1957 Greenville High School State Championship Baseball Team, and was inducted into the Muhlenberg County Hall of Fame in 2017.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Dorthy Yonts.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Yonts; sons, Darren (Nolynn) Yonts and Tony (Dana) Gossett; daughter, Christy Barnett; grandchildren, Tyler Yonts, Damian (Kayla) Reed, Noah (Tisha) Reed, Katie Barnett, Courtney Gossett, Cassie Barnett, and Hannah Gossett; great-grandchildren, Selven, Kaleese, Nora, Willow, Arlo, Wade, Guendalin, Darringer, and Kenzie; sister, Jeanie Parham; and brother, Daniel (Karen) Yonts.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 12, 2023, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Steve Hobbs officiating.  Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday after 10:00AM at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
