CENTRAL CITY- John “Freddie” Vincent of Central City passed away May 11, 2018 at his residence. He was born on February 26, 1934 to the late Ross and Pearl Vincent of South Carrollton. Freddie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his job as a mason for over 65 years. He was a coal miner for 17 years and a member of UMWA. He was a scout master of Boy Scout Troop 96 for 16 years. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Freddie loved his family and his happiest moments were when all his children and grandchildren were gathered around him. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Pearl Vincent; sister, June Whitaker; brothers, Billy Joe Vincent and Donald Ross Vincent; granddaughter, Dana Vincent. Freddie is survived by his wife of 65 years Patsy Curry Vincent of Central City; sons, Kenneth (Barbara) Vincent of Central City, Danny (Beth) Vincent of Henderson; daughters, Teresa (Alan) Culbertson of Powderly, Laura (Charles) Alverson of Greenville, Donna (Jack) Reno of Central City; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Knight and Ada Sue Alexander of Central City; many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff of Fresenius Dialysis Center for all their great care of Freddie over the last thirteen years. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Cody Crowell and Kenneth Vincent officiating.
