DRAKESBORO – Joe Lane Shingledecker, 66, of Drakesboro, died Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 2:15AM at his residence.  Mr. Shingledecker was born August 6, 1958, in Russellville.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator at Reed Minerals.  He enjoyed watching UK basketball and spending time with the grandchildren.  His favorite pastimes were deer and turkey hunting.  He also enjoyed farming with Double S Farms.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Betty Shingledecker, and Sue and Bobby Blick; and step-brother, Jeff Blick.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rita Shingledecker; daughter, Amy Shingledecker; son, Matthew Shingledecker; grandchildren, Shayla Galloway, Scott Shingledecker, Kameron Galloway, Alyana Shingledecker, and Aubrey Shingledecker; great-grandchildren, Seriah and Amari Galloway; brothers-in-law, Mike Drake and Paul Lyle; and step-sisters, Joy Dukes and Janice Blick.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Malcolm West officiating.  Burial in Highway Cemetery in Drakesboro.  Visitation will be Thursday after 10:00AM at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Joe Shingledecker Memorial Fund, c/o Tucker Funeral Home, P.O.
