DRAKESBORO – Joe Phillip Gaither, 79, of Drakesboro, died Saturday February 23, 2019 at 12:11AM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Gaither was born February 5, 1940, in Ohio County. He was a retired coal miner from Peabody Coal Company. He was preceded in death by his parents Avery and Tassi Gaither, and several brother and sisters. He is survived by his wife Wanda “Trish” Montgomery Gaither of Drakesboro, Sons John (Sarah) Roarke of Bremen, Joe Phillip (Jacki) Gaither Jr. of Lucas Ohio, and Jared (Denna) Gaither of Beaver Dam, Grandsons Derek (Jennifer) Roarke, Cameron (Cheyenne) Roarke, Joe Phillip Gaither III, Andrew Quinn Gaither, Logan Daniel Gaither,and Colten Daniel Gaither, great grandsons Harper Roarke, Hadley Roarke, Brantley Roarke, and Hudson Roarke, Brothers Jack (Neala) Gaither, and Gene (Evelyn) Gaither, and sister Barbara Quisenberry. Funeral services will be Thursday February 28, 2019 at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Minister Kim Erwin officiating and Pastor Daren Childers assisting. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 5:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com
