CENTRAL CITY – Jeffrey Ray “JJ” Jones, 64, of Central City, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 1:52PM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.  Mr. Jones was born January 17, 1958, in Greenville.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will forever be in our hearts.  He was a coal miner for 43 years, having worked at various mines in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.  He loved UK basketball, Cincinnati Reds, Dallas Cowboys, old hot rod cars, and riding his Harley.  He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Ray and Martha Nell Jones; and sister, Cindy Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Debbie Jones; sons, Nathan (Jennifer) Jones of Central City and Josh (Gwen) Jones of Central City; grandsons, Austin Jones and Seth Jones; great-grandson, Caysen Jones; and many family and friends who all have stories and fond memories of him.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 23, 2022, at 12:00 noon at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Brian Jones officiating.  Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8PM at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Jeffrey Jones Memorial Fund, c/o Tucker Funeral Home, P.O.
