DRAKESBORO – Ina Mirl Brister from Drakesboro, Kentucky passed away on February 28, 2017, surrounded by her four children. She was 86 years old. She was born on May 18, 1930 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Survived by her four children, Larry Brister and wife Pat from St John, IN, Linda Lukas and husband Greg form Gary, IN, Teresa Holme and husband Randy from Drakesboro, KY and Tim Brister and wife Jana from Hanson, KY. 7 grandchildren, Stacia Steepleton, Tricia Felty, Lori Hurst, Telisha Lendabarker, Kasey Senior, Jamie Brister and Matthew Brister. 16 great-grandchildren Joshua, Zachary, Jenna, Seth, Jeremieh, Andrew, Hannah, Abigail, Grace, Isabella, Madison, Avery, Lily, Kim, Emily and Carys. Ina was the youngest of 10 children. She had many nieces and nephews who she loved as if they were her own children. Preceded in death by her husband Oscar R Brister, July 9, 2016, her parents Joseph J Drake and Madie Bea (Peay) Drake and her nine siblings Arie Lee, David, Erdine, Rhoda, Elmore, Mary, Calvin, Ada Belle, and Mima Jane. Ina was a devoted homemaker; who took care of her husband, her children and doted over all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ina loved to sew, quilt and crochet. She was very gifted and could make most anything by sight. The joy of her life was her family and she was the source of many great memories for all of them. Ina was a faithful Christian woman, saved at Forest Oak Baptist Church, Belton, KY, and while living in Gary, IN was a faithful member of Black Oak Baptist Church. She was dedicated in church work serving where and whenever needed. She studied the Bible faithfully and lived her life according to the truth of God’s word. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her and her husband lived in Northwest IN from 1949 to 1980. They retired and moved back to the place where they grew up and lived happily in retirement for another 36 years. Visitation will be at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, KY on Thursday, March 2nd at 5:00 p.m. Funeral will be Friday, March 3rd at Forest Oak Baptist Church in Belton, Kentucky with visitation at the church from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pastor Vernon Cook will deliver the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial in Forest Oak Cemetery.
