CENTRAL CITY – Hubert Leslie Revelett, 88, of Central City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 14, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Wanda Gish Revelett for 62 years, and they made their home and raised a loving family in Bremen, Kentucky.
Hubert was born on June 19, 1936, to Mitchell and Thelma Revlett of McLean County. He attended Sacramento High School before serving four years in the United States Air Force. His assignments would include bases across the United States as well as a stint in Iwo Jima. After his service, he returned home where he would later marry Wanda on March 2, 1962, by Rev. Garnett Ashby at Towers Chapel Methodist Church in Sacramento.
Hubert would go on to attend Nashville Auto-Diesel College before starting a career as a diesel mechanic and machinist at Tennessee Valley Authority. He retired from TVA after 30 years and continued working various part-time jobs in the community including most recently at Tri-City Auto Parts and Building Supply until the age of 85.
Hubert was a devout Christian who loved serving God. He was a longtime member of Towers Chapel Methodist Church in Sacramento where he served as a Sunday School teacher for 14 years. In recent years, he attended Neal’s Chapel General Baptist Church in Sacramento.
He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren brought him great joy. He loved to poke fun and tease those around him. Hubert was very skilled in working with his hands, with specific talents for woodworking and art. He could regularly be found working on any number of projects in his shop, often with the intent of gifting his handiwork to family and friends. Hubert also enjoyed gardening and spending time on his farm.
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Thelma Revlett. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Gish Revelett, and two children, Lisa (Deron) Harris of Bremen and Susan (Tony) Davenport of Bremen. He has three grandchildren, Brent (McKenzie) Harris of Frankfort, Haleigh Harris of Bowling Green, and Lily Davenport of Bremen. His brother, Willard Revlett, resides in Sacramento and sister, Linda Tompkins, resides in Owensboro.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Joey Todd officiating, assisted by Bro. Keith Howard and Bro. Brent Kelly.
