DRAKESBORO- Herschel Rufus Shrewsberry Jr., 72, of Drakesboro died Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Norton Brownsville Hospital in Louisville. Mr. Shrewsberry was born in Muhlenberg County on February 22, 1952. He was retired coal miner and a graduate of Central City High School. Mr. Shrewsberry loved fishing, mowing, and watching western movies. He is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Jagoe Shrewsberry; father, Herschel Rufus Shrewsberry; sisters, Betty Ann Bard, Shirley Shrewsberry; brother, Frank Earl Shrewsberry.

Survivors include his wife, Thrella Shrewsberry of Central City; children, Tammy (AJ) Johnson of Madisonville, Melinda (Jamar) Render of Central City, Tiffany Shrewsberry of Hopkinsville, Dewayne (Savannah) Shrewsberry of Greenville, Bryan (TaNassa) Shrewsberry of Madisonville; brothers and sisters, Kathy Shrewsberry of Bowling Green, Jackie Shrewsberry of Central City, Barbara (Haze) Shelton of Central City, Larry (Patricia) Shrewsberry of North Carolina, Jimmy Shrewsberry of LaGrange; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Otis Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Bard Cemetery in Graham.
