CENTRAL CITY- Gilmon Lee Flener, 99 of Central City Died Friday, October 06, 2017 at his home in Central City. Mr. Flener was born May 31, 1918 in Butler County. He was a retired track inspector with ICRR, and a member of Crossing Holiness Church, and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife of 56 years Edith Flener and his 2nd wife of 16 years Alta Flener, son-Normon Flener grandson, Anthony Daryl Whitehouse, son in law, Charles Johnson, granddaughter Beth Flener, great-grandchildren- Denzil Flener III, Whitney Whitehouse, and Heather Flener, sisters- Peggy Shemwell and Ailene Tomes. He is survived by his sons: Denzil “Sandy” Flener of Central City, Wendell “Linda’ Flener of Central City, Stevie “Kaye” Flener of Central City, daughters: Doris Johnson of Central City, Linda “Jerry” Whitehouse of Central City, Sue “Harold” Hardison of Beechmont, Barbara “Bill” Penrod of Central City, daughter in law Myrttie Flener of Central City, grandchildren: Doris Kay Ferguson, Gay Napier, Fay McEuen, Byron Johnson, Jerry Whitehouse Jr., Cindy Beasley, Mike Whitehouse, Jeff Whitehouse, Jason Whitehouse, Lewis Flener, Tracy Flener, LeeAnn Flener, Wendell FlenerJr., Troy Flener, Melinda Nightingale, Chris Flener, Jonathan Flener, Kerry Hardison, Tommy Hardison, Kelly Anderson, Steve Flener Jr., Andy Flener, Anthony Flener, Dustin Flener, Bobby Penrod, Kristie Johnson, Wesley Penrod, Brian Penrod, Natalie Patterson, David Penrod, Casey Penrod, Brooke Uzzle, Ashley Penrod and Gina Whitehouse. 97 great-grandchildren, and 32 great-great-grandchildren and sister; Laverne “Bobby” Tarrants Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Crossing Holiness Church in Central City, with Bro. Wendell Flener officiating and assisted by Sister Linda Whitehouse. Visitation will be Monday after 4:00 PM at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
