I've been friends with Gerald for several years. The past few years he worked at East Campus and I worked at West. This year I was excited that the campuses were combining, because I was going to be seeing Gerald a lot more. And he didn't disappoint. He was there for me on a daily basis. We shared laughs. We shared stories. School will be different now. I'm going to miss him. Shawn, he thought the world of you. He talked about you quite often and your music ability with the guitar. He was extremely proud of you!
Emily Sherman left a message on March 28, 2022:
Gerald was one of the kindest, hardest-working men I’ve ever been lucky enough to know. I loved seeing his smile each morning in the hallway. He always took the time to make his coworkers and students feel listened to and valued. Hugs and prayers, friend. You are missed.

What a great man and I was so honored to get to know him. Words cannot do him justice and express what a wonderful man he was to us all. He always greeted everyone with a smile and made everyone feel like family. I know he is fishing in the best lake heaven has to offer.
