POWDERLY – Gerald Ray “Corky” Brooks, Sr., 72, of Powderly, died Monday, December 23, 2019, at 3:20AM at his home. Mr. Brooks was born July 22, 1947, in Muhlenberg County. He was a logger and member of New Life Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Brooks; grandson Jacob Baize; and brother Denny Brooks. He is survived by his sons, Gerald Ray (Rhonda) Brooks, Jr., John Carl (Amanda) Brooks, and Ricky Dale (Jennifer) Brooks; daughter Mary Katherine (Ronnie) Brooks; grandchildren Chesley Brooks, Justin Brooks, Johnathan Brooks, Ashton Henderson, Matthew Brooks, Nicholas Brooks, Abby Brooks, Jenna Brooks, and Katie Brooks; great-grandchildren Keelie Brooks, Hunter Brooks, Eli Brooks, Waylon Brooks, and Jerimah Brooks; brother Jackie Brooks; and sisters Ruth Garrett, Becky Rose, Opal Cain, Barbara Butler, and Kay Langley. Funeral services will be Friday, December 27, 2019, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Wayne Rice officiating, assisted by Rev. Ronnie Brooks. Burial in New Life Cemetery.
