GREENVILLE – Frederick Nelson Wells, 75, of Greenville, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 12:42AM at his residence. Mr. Wells was born March 31, 1947, in Muhlenberg County. He was a parts salesman for Lester Motors. He was a U.S. Army veteran, where he was a Sergeant and served two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Wells enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, camping, and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved his dog, Gidget. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Eugene Wells, Brooksie Wells Sanders, and William T. Sanders; brother, Bernard Leon Wells; mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Naomi Cobb; son-in-law, Keith Dixon; grandparents, Pearl and Pulaski Wells and Gaylen and Novie Putty; sisters-in-law, Linda Cobb and Mary Randolph; and brother-in-law, Larry Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Cobb Wells; daughters, Derita Dixon and Brooklyn Wells, both of Greenville; son, Nelson (Whitney) Wells of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Gunnar (Melanie) Dixon and Kenzie (Luke) Dixon; great-grandchildren Brady Tate Dixon, Brindley Kate Gossett, and Motlee Ann Dixon; brothers-in-law Henry (Janet) Cobb, William (Benita) Cobb, Richard (Daphne) Cobb, Cornelius (Tina) Cobb, and Allen (Donna) Cobb; sisters-in-law Brenda Ward and Lou (Larry) Stuck; and uncle Bryan (Margaret) Putty.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Mr. Paul Moore officiating. Burial in Cherry Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday after 10:00AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
