Eva Dean Payton CENTRAL CITY — Eva Dean Payton, 89, of Central City died at 1:17 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at her home. She was born May 18, 1920, in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and member of Fairview Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Payton; her parents, Irvin and Susie Payton; a sister, Oplean Humphrey; two brothers, James and William Humphrey; and a son and daughter, Dale and Gale Payton. Survivors include six sons, Otis (Rita) Payton and David (Linda) Payton, all of Sacramento, Gary Don (Doris) Payton of Evansville and Brian Keith (Rebecca) Payton, James “Red” Payton and Charles “Cotton” (Mary Ann) Payton, all of Central City; a daughter, Margaret (Frank) Hickerson of Bremen; a brother, Leon Humphrey of Bremen; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento, with the Rev. James Tayley officiating, assisted by the Rev. Leroy Rearden. Burial will be in Shavers Chapel Cemetery in Bremen.
