Eva Clardy Evitts Published: Saturday, May 23, 2009 12:10 AM CDT Eva Clardy Evitts, 97, of Graham left for Heaven on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her three children. She was born Dec. 30, 1911, in Belton to the late Yancey and Della Clardy. She was a member of East Union Baptist Church, a retired teacher and an avid UK Wildcat fan. She lived for the Lord, loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed vegetable gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E.C. Billy Evitts; four brothers; and a sister. Survivors include three children, a son, Johnnie (Melba) Evitts of Greenville; two daughters, Faye (Ken) Galyen and Freda (Terry) McCay, both of Graham; seven grandchildren, Sherry (Jim) Beasley, Greg Galyen, Kevin (Regina) McCay, Sonya (Dom) Colao, Michael (Tracey) McCay, Billy (Stephanie) Evitts and Melissa (Chris) Sanders; 18 great-grandchildren, John David Pentecost, Kristopher (Austin) Stringfield, Cory Beasley, Jamie Galyen, Tyler Beasley, Hollie Galyen, Braden Galyen, Kara McCay, Ashten Sanders, Kayla McCay, Alex Colao, Adrianna Workman, Alison Calao, Parker Evitts, McCaydyn Sanders, Maggie Evitts, Eva Taylor McCay and Clayton Sanders; and three great-great-grandchildren, Grace Pentecost, Weston Pentecost and Kaleb Stringfield. Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at East Union Church, with the Rev. Ron Wingo officiating. Mrs. Evitts will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday at the church. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Sunday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in East Union Cemetery.
