ELKTON – Eddie Joe Edwards, 76, of Elkton, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was born in Powderly, Kentucky on September 13, 1946 to parents, Arthur Thomas Edwards, and Floella Edwards. He spent his childhood and youth with his five brothers and one sister. After graduating high school in 1965, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served two years in the Army and was stationed in Korea for thirteen months. He married the love of his life on February 21, 1970. They spent fifty-three years together and raised three children. They also had six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He spent his early working years at the IC Railroad. He would later return to Muhlenberg County and spend many years working at TVA eventually retiring from there. He was a member of Landmark Assembly of God Church for over fifty years where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Song Leader. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed old Western movies, Elvis’s music, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Thomas and Floella Edwards; brothers, Bobby Edwards, Donald Edwards, Danny Edwards; daughter, Kristy Edwards Tucker; son in law, Coby Tucker; granddaughter, Kaileigh Tucker.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Edwards; daughter, Tracy (Michael) Edwards Best; son, Eddie Shawn (Jill) Edwards; brothers, Tommy and Tony Edwards; sister, Sue Woodson; grandchildren, Brandon Wilson, Lauryn (Kameron) Kinkade, Kate Edwards, Kristian Best, Kyrsten Best; great grandchild, Arlen Kinkade; mother in law, Lucyle Willis.
Funeral services are Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Anthony Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Landmark Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00AM-1:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
