GREENVILLE – E.G. Capps, 97, of Greenville, died Monday, April 24, 2017, at 10:10AM at his home. Mr. Capps was born June 21, 1919, in Muhlenberg County. He was a coal miner and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Earl Capps; daughter Gynell Capps Vincent; grandsons Jeff Smith and Troy Capps; great-grandson Ryan Capps; and 14 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Anthony (Glenda) Capps of Central City; daughters Marquinta (Clifford) Stewart of Louisville, Eileen (Mike) Neal of Central City, and Sherri (Eddie) Bryant of Central City; grandchildren Bryan (Sherry) Capps, Robin( Ken) Hoefflin, Beth (Mike) Carney, Steve Stewart, Jill Stewart, Brandon Smith, Shane Capps, Sherra (Brent) Coulter, Brad (Rebecca) Vincent, Heather (David) Garrett, Nathan (Stephanie) Bryant, and Haley (Seth) Ray; great-grandchildren Micaiah, Dalton, Jason, Jacob, Sydney, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Ethan, Lauren, Mya, Rikki Lynn, Payton, Levi, Brennen, Taylor, Chloe, Colin, Madelynn, Ella, and Lexie; and sister Betty Pannell of Ohio County. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial in New Harmony Cemetery.
