SACRAMENTO – Donna Darlene Lowery, 66, of Sacramento, died Thursday, August, 25, 2022, at 4:00 a.m. at her residence. Ms. Lowery was born in Fort Dix, New Jersey. She was a judicial assistant at the Dade County Court House in Florida and of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Verna Blanchard; and sister, Barbara Ann Cox.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas (Christina) Lowery of Sacramento; grandson, Owen Lee Lowery; sisters, Sylvia Sutton of Sacramento, Wanda Castillo of Henderson, Teresa Landrum of Sacramento, and Susan Johnson of Georgia; and brother, Wayne Blanchard of Georgia.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 29, at 10:00 a.m. at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento, with Ricky Blanchard officiating. Burial in Lake Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.

Although I never had the pleasure of working directly with her, our path crossed often in the courthouse through the years. I met Donna when she was working with Judge Shelley Kravitz in the brand new Domestic Violence Division of the Court. I was 20 nothing years old. She showed and taught me patience, empathy and kindness in helping victims. Donna was such a gentle soul. She was a doting Mother and we spoke often about her son who was her number one priority. She was a very special person who I remember fondly. My deepest condolences to her family.

My deeepest sympathies for Donna’s family. What an incredibly kindhearted and selfless soul. I worked with Donna in the family courthouse, and she was my guiding light when I first started. Her willingness to help others, her limitless patience, and her generosity of spirit left a mark on me that I’ll always carry. She will be missed.

Donna was my sister of the soul. She was pure of heart. I loved her and will miss here every day. Donna made me look good but most of all she was my dear friend. I am so sorry for her loss and send my condolences to the family. I am honored she was part of my life.

My condolences sincerely. Donna was one of the greatest and kindest people I had ever known. She had been by my mom’s side for a long time. She was so loyal to my mom and was considered was of her greatest and closest friend. I remember going to the court house after school and my mom would be busy so I would hang out with Donna. She would always ask me how school is going and I’d talk to her about what book she’s reading. She was someone that was so comforting to talk to. She will be missed greatly.

My heart is so heavy hearing this news. Donna was always such a pleasant, beautiful soul! She was one of the few that I would always go out of my way to greet! Dear Donna, my friend, I was so very saddened to hear this news. We have spent so many, many good times in Florida, many dinners, many crafting sessions, Thanksgivings, many weekends together, many times spent with our baby boys. You remembered my birthday and surprised me with a call last year. I kept thinking I'm going to call her and go visit the next time I'm in Kentucky and I waited too long. Who knew? I am so glad you got to be a grandmother and got to spend so much time with Baby Owen. You will be truly missed and I will forever be sorry that I didn't have that last visit. Rest in peace my friend and say hello to Verna for me.
