BELTON – David Lee Drake, 64, of Belton, died Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 4:50PM at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. David was born October 17, 1957, in Gary, Indiana. He was a retired explosives pinner for Peabody Coal Co., and was of the Christian faith. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. Faith, family, and food put a smile on his face. David never met a stranger. He preached the gospel and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmore and Esther Drake; brother Darrel Drake; and brother-in-law Eddie Chapman.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathy Stanley Drake; children Alex (Holly) Drake of Bowling Green, Vanessa (Daniel R.) Rolley of Beech Creek, and Kevin Drake of Greenville; brothers Randle (Jo Lynn) Drake, Glendle (Joyce) Drake, and Dale (Kathy) Drake; sister-in-law Joanna Drake; sisters Joyce (Bill) Cunningham and Marie Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Daren Childers officiating. Burial in Stanley Family Cemetery in White Plains.
