NORTONVILLE – Darrell Kirwan Rose, Sr., 77, of Nortonville, died Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at 6:45AM at his home. Mr. Rose was born March 28, 1943, in Muhlenberg County. He was a member of New Cypress Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from Smith Coal Company, and was a member of United Mine Workers Local #5138. He later worked as a security guard at Hopkins County Coal – Elk Creek Mine. He loved to spend his time outdoors hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Juanita Rose; daughters Sherri Huckleberry and Madora Kerr; and brothers Foster Rose and Lloyd Rose. He is survived by his wife, Faye Knight Rose; son Darrell Kirwan (Caryn) Rose, Jr., of Greenville; grandchildren Devina Ker, Allen (Amanda) Kerr, Mikale (Ken) Pryor, Brandon (Alicia) Laster, Justin Laster, Brooke (Ben) Aders, Desirea Mercer, and Darralyn Rose; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Terry Chaney officiating. Burial in New Cypress Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. In compliance with health and public safety directives, capacity will be limited in accordance with state guidelines.
