CENTRAL CITY – Darlene Jo Skimehorn Gossett, 73, of Central City, died Monday, June 24, 2024 at 2:28PM at her residence. Ms. Gossett was born September 17, 1950 in Muhlenberg County. She worked in Branch Office Administration for Edward Jones in Owensboro and was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City. She loved to serve in her church. She enjoyed traveling and met her goal of going to all 50 states. She loved to be outside gardening. She kept a routine of getting her yearly flowers the Saturday before Mother’s Day. She loved listening to Elvis, but her favorite song ever was “Happy Together” by the Turtles. It was her and her husband’s song to each other. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rondle and Betty Skimehorn; brother, Roger Skimehorn; and father and mother-in-law, James and Jewel “Judy” Gossett.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronnie Lee Gossett of Central City; daughter, Ronda (James) Brooks of Central City; granddaughter, Alexandra (Taylor) Phipps of Hopkinsville; grandson, Jacob (Calista) Brooks of Greenville; and great-grandson, Noah Chaney of Greenville.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 28, 2024 at 11AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Dr. Chase Thompson officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
