BELTON – Cecil Ray McPherson, 75, of Belton, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 12:45PM at Belle Meade Nursing Home. Mr. McPherson was born December 8, 1937 in Muhlenberg County. He was a coal miner for 28 years, having retired from Peabody Coal, and was a member of Forest Oak Missionary Baptist Church. He loved stock car racing, working in his recycling business, and hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewin and Rachel McPherson; sisters Linda Blake and Brenda Young; and brother Waymon McPherson. Survivors include his wife, Janice Beliles McPherson; children Kathy (Jerry) Grubbs, Timothy McPherson, Richard McPherson, and Barbara McPherson, all of Belton; grandsons Chris Grubbs, Jeremy McPherson, Jason McPherson, Joshua McPherson, and Josh McPherson; six great-granddaughters; three step-great-grandchildren; sisters Jonell Drake, Bonnie Cartwright, Peggy Beliles, and Hettie Garrett; and brother Charlie McPherson. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1:00PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Haire officiating. Burial in Mud River Union Cemetery.
