BELTON – Carolyn Sue (Hill) Fleming, 85, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at her home in Belton. Mrs. Fleming worked for Morris Beschloss of Rancho Mirage, CA for over 56 years. She was born January 3, 1939 in Muhlenberg County. She lived in the Hammond, Ind./Calumet City, Illinois area for almost 40 years, before moving back to Kentucky in 1992. She continued to work until shortly before her death. Mrs. Fleming served as President of Drakesboro Fun over Forty Club for several years, and attended Riverside Church, the church of her childhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Fleming; her parents, Oma and Connie Hill, who owned a small coal mine in Riverside before moving to Hammond, Indiana in the early 1950’s; and six brothers, Connis, Harold, Arthur Lee, Jewel Howard, Charles Hugh, and Carl Glendon Hill.

Surviving are a son, Eric Fleming of Griffith, Indiana; a daughter, Paula (Joe) Rodrigues of Belton, KY; as well as eight grandchildren,  Branden Camp of Central City, Cullan Fleming of South Chicago Height, IL, Connor Fleming, of Greenville, KY, Skylar Wulfe, of Phoenix, AZ, Corrine Rae Camp of Indianapolis, IN, Rheanna (Tommy) Camp Firkus of Plover, WI, Jessica Fleming of Bremen, KY and Lauren Lutes of Indianapolis, IN; also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Brenna, and Cayden; two sisters, Lois McElwain of Penrod, KY and Janice Stover,  of Drakesboro, KY; and one brother, Kenneth Wayne (Brenda) Hill of Drakesboro; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11AM at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Brooks officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home and Monday from 9-11AM at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.

This loss will be felt by so many people whose lives she touched. One of the smartest people I have ever met, she could do literally anything. She was blunt and direct, yet so generous and giving. I'm so glad for the years she was part of my life, I admired her strength and independence so much, and she showed me that a woman could do anything she put her mind to. I still carry her influence with me today. Thank you Sue, for caring for me and my children, telling your stories, for your patience and generosity, and for teaching us so many things.
