GREENVILLE – Bobby Ray Adams, 83, of Greenville, died Wednesday afternoon, February 6, 2019, at 2:00pm at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY. Bob was born June 8, 1935, in Christian County, Kentucky. Bob retired from Peabody Coal after 42 years of mining. He was recognized as 1988 Blaster of the Year by Austin Powder. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Ray Adams Smith. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Nancy Cansler Adams; son, Mark (Shari) Adams of Central City; son-in-law Kruse Smith; grandchildren Justin Smith of Lexington; Leslie (Drew) Charters of West Lafayette, IN with twin great- granddaughters Chloe and Claire; Derek (Courtney) Adams of Nolensville, TN with “greats” Harvey, Sully and Ginny Rose; and Savannah Smith Mercer of Birmingham, AL with great-granddaughter Ella Ray Mercer; and one sister, Wanda Adams Cranor, of Crofton KY. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 2:00pm at Crofton Christian Church in Crofton, KY with Rev. Rick Loader officiating, assisted by Ronnie Cornelius and Willie Renshaw. Burial will follow at Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton. Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 5-8pm at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City and Sunday after 1:00pm at Crofton Christian Church.
